The Yugoslav Final was held on February 28th at TV Studios in Belgrade, hosted by Minja Subota & Helga Vlahovic. The winning song was chosen by the votes of 8 regional juries.

Seid Memic-Vajta came 15th at the ESC where Neda Ukraden was one of his backing singers, as was Ismeta Krvavac who had represented Yugoslavia in 1976 as lead singer of Ambasadori.
