The Turkish Final was held on February 28th at the TRT Studios in Ankara, hosted by Bülent Özveren & Ekin Olcayto. The winner was chosen by an „expert“ jury.

Tüzmen previously came 2nd in the 1996 Turkish Final & took part in the 1997 Turkish Final. At the ESC, he was 14th. Sebnem Paker represented Turkey in ESC 1996 & 1997.
