The Swedish Final was held at the Victoriahallen in Älvsjömässen on February 24th, hosted by Siw Malmqvist & Pontus Gårdinger. The winner was chosen by regional juries who initially reduced the songs from 10 to 5, and then once the final 5 had been performed again, chose the winner.

The two lead singers of the group ‚One More Time‘ were Nanne Gronväll & Maria Rådsten. Nanne previously came 4th in the 1986 & 1987 Swedish Finals in the group ‚Sound of Music‘, while Maria came 3rd in 1992. At the ESC, they were 3rd. Lotta Engberg was a backing singer for Sweden in ESC 1984 and represented Sweden herself in 1987. Frank Ådahl was in the group Edin-Ådahl that represented Sweden in 1990.
