The Swedish Final was held on February 9th in Stockholm, hosted by Johan Sandström. The winner was chosen by the votes of 11 regional juries.

ABBA went on to win the ESC. They previously came 3rd in the 1973 Swedish Final. One of the members of the group – Anni-Fryd Lyngstad – also came equal 4th in the 1969 Swedish Final. Göran Fristorp represented Sweden in ESC 1973 (in the group ‚Nova‘).
