The Spanish Final was held from October 17th until December 30th, with the purpose of selecting solely the singer for the ESC who would then go on to commission a song. On October 17th Massiel & Julio Iglesias hosted a show to introduce the 10 participating singers. In the next 10 shows (from October 24th-December 26th, hosted by Joauín Prat) one singer was the focus of attention singing several songs, while the other 9 contestants sang one song. After each show, 8 juries would vote on the singers and in the final show on December 30th (hosted by Jose Luis Uribarri), the winner of the voting over the 10 shows was announced.

Karina came 2nd at the Eurovision.
