The Slovene Final was held on January 29th at the RTVSLO TV Studios in Ljubljana, hosted by Janez Škof & Aljoša Ternovšek. The winner was chosen by televoting, SMS voting and an „expert“ jury, each with a 1/3 weighting. Saša Lendero won the televote & SMS vote while Anžej Dežan was the favourite of the „expert“ jury.

Anžej Dežan was previously a backing singer for Nuša Derenda in the 2005 Slovene Final. At the ESC Semi-Final he was 16th, where one of his backing singers was Maja Slatinšek.
