The Slovene Final was held on February 24th at the RTVSLO TV Studios in Ljubljana, hosted by Misa Molk, Marcel Stefancic & Mojca Mavec. Before the final there was a semi-final. The winner was chosen by televoting, an „expert“ jury and an RTVSLO jury – Karmen Stavec won the televote.

The Semifinals

The Slovene Semi-Final was held on February 23rd at the RTVSLO TV Studios in Ljubljana, hosted by Mojca Mavec. Twelve songs qualified for the final – 6 chosen by televoting (indicated with a ‚T‘) and 6 by an „expert“ jury (indicated with a ‚J‘).

Nuša Derenda previously came equal 11th in the 1999 Slovene Final. At the ESC she came 7th. One of her pianists was Urša Vlasic who came 13th in the 1988 Yugoslav Final & equal 15th in 1990 (as Urša Drinovec). Regina represented Slovenia in ESC 1996, while Karmen Stavec was a backing singer for Slovenia in 1998.
