The Slovene Final was held on February 26th at the RTVSLO TV studios in Ljubljana, hosted by Mojca Mavec. The winning song was chosen by an „expert“ jury (2/3) and televoting (1/3). Tinkara Kovac won the televote.

Darja Švajger previously represented Slovenia in ESC 1995. She also came 2nd in the 1993 Slovene Final, 2nd in 1997 & 6th in 1998. At the ESC she was 11th. Irena (Vrckovnik) was a backing singer for Slovenia in ESC 1997.
