The Semifinals
The Romanian Semi-Finals were held at the TVR TV Studios in Bucharest, hosted by Luminita Anghel who represented Romania in ESC 2005 & Catalin Maruta. The top 6 songs in each semi-final qualified for the final. The voting was a mixture of televoting (50%) and an „expert“ jury (50%).

The Final
The Romanian Final was held on February 26th at the TVR TV Studios in Bucharest, hosted by Luminita Anghel who represented Romania in ESC 2005 & Catalin Maruta. The winner was chosen by an „expert“ jury (50%) and televoting (50%). Mihai Traistariu was the favourite of the „expert“ jury while Akcent & Nico won the televote.

Mihai Traistariu previously came 2nd in the 2000 Romanian Final, 4th in 2002, equal 3rd in 2003 (in the group Valahia), took part in the 2004 Romanian Semi-Finals (as Adonis) and came 3rd in 2005. At the ESC, he was 4th.
