The Romanian Final was held at the Palatul Copilor in Bucharest on March 8th, hosted by Angela Similea and Gabriel Cotabita. The winner was chosen by regional juries.

Monica Anghel had previously taken part in the 1993 & 1994 Romanian Finals, but was eliminated in the pre-selection for the ESC. Geanina Olaru was a backing singer for Romania in 1994. Dida Dragan represented Romania in the 1993 pre-selection.
