The Portuguese Final was held at Europarque in Santa Maria da Feira on March 7th, hosted by Sónia Araújo & Cristina Möhler – however it wasn’t broadcast until March 11th. Before the final there were 5 semi-finals. The winner was chosen by 20 regional juries.
The Semifinals
The Portuguese Semi-Finals were hosted by Sónia Araújo & Cristina Möhler. The finalists were chosen by a jury of 5 „experts“, one of which was always Tozé Brito who was a member of the group Gemini that represented Portugal in ESC 1978.

One of the members of the group Vudoo was Pedro Soares who represented Portugal in ESC 1998 as a member of the group Alma Lusa.

MTM came 17th at the ESC. One of the duo – Marco Quelhas, previously came 2nd in the 1990 Portuguese Final in the group Karamurú and took part in the 1992 & 1994 Portuguese Semi-Finals.
