The Portuguese Final was held on March 7th at the Coliseu dos Recreios in Lisbon, hosted by Margarida Andrade & Eládio Clímaco. The winner was chosen by 22 regional juries.

Adelaide Ferreira previously took part in the 1980 Portuguese Semi-Finals (in the group ‚As Alegres Comadres‘) & came 5th in the 1984 Portuguese Final. At the ESC, she was 18th.
