
The Norwegian Final was held on March 1st at the Spektrum in Oslo, hosted by Øystein Bache. The winner was chosen in two rounds of voting – in the first, regional televoting was used to select the top 4 songs, and in the 2nd the winner was chosen by televoting.

Jostein Hasselgård came 4th at the ESC. Åse Karin Hjelen was a backing singer for Norway in ESC 2000. Kikki (Danielsson) represented Sweden in 1982 & 1985. Bettan (Elisabeth Andreassen) represented Sweden in 1982, Norway in 1985, 1994 & 1996. Lotta (Engberg) was a backing singer for The Herreys in the 1984 ESC before representing Sweden herself in 1987.
