The Norwegian Final was held on February 27th at the NRK TV Studios in Oslo, hosted by Rune Gokstad & Øystein Bache. The winner was chosen by regional televoting and an „expert“ jury.

Van Eijk came 14th at the ESC. One of the members of Gryting was Håvard Gryting who was a backing singer for Norway in ESC 1998. Tor Endresen was a backing singer for Norway in ESC 1988 and represented Norway in 1997.
