The Maltese Semi-Final was held on February 17th at the Malta Fairs & Convention Centre in Ta‘ Qali, hosted by Quinton Scerri, Stephanie Spiteri & Ron Briffa. The top 16 songs, chosen by an „expert“ jury (6/7) & SMS voting (1/7) qualified for the final. The SMS voting was open until February 18th when the results were announced in a show hosted by Ron Briffa, Josmar & Ryan Borg. Afterwards another round of SMS voting was held to award a ‚wildcard‘ to one of the 6 songs that had not automatically qualified. The result was announced on February 19th.
