The Lithuanian Final was held on February 14th at the Palace of Sports & Culture in Vilnius. The winner was chosen by televoting (25%), the audience in the hall (25%) & an „expert“ jury (50%). Only the top 10 placings (and some of the corresponding points) were announced. At the end of March B’Avarija were disqualified because the Lithuanian version of their song – „Mes cia“ was released on CD at the end of 2001. Consequently, Aivaras was declared the winner.
