The German Final was held on February 18th at the Stadhalle in Bremen, hosted by Axel Bulthaupt. The winner was chosen by televoting. Only the top 3 were announced, but some of the other voting results are known.

Stefan Raab came 5th at the ESC. Corinna May was the original winner of the 1999 German Final, before being subsequently disqualified.
