The Finnish Final was held on February 3rd at the Cultural Centre in Espoo, hosted by Minna Pentti & Nina Honkanen. The winner was chosen by televoting, however due to technical problems the televote was extended until the morning of February 5th with the result being announced later that day.

Jasmine came 23rd at the ESC. One of her guitarists was Jari Niemenen who represented Finland in ESC 1988 in the group Boulevard and was a backing singer for Finland in ESC 1987. Kirka represented Finland in ESC 1984. Amongst his backing singers was Kari Kuivalainen who represented Finland in ESC 1986 & Pepe Willberg who was a backing singer for Finland in ESC 1978 & 1993.
