The Finnish Final was held on March 6th at the YLE TV-Studios in Helsinki, hosted by Ari Korvola. The winner was chosen by 11 regional juries.

Katri Helena previously represented Finland in ESC 1979. She also came 2nd in the 1969, 1972 & 1978 Finnish Finals. At the ESC she was 17th.
