The Finnish Final was held at Kultturitalo in Helsinki on February 4th, hosted by Tarja Koskela. The winner was chosen by an „expert“ jury.

Anneli Saaristo previously came 4th in the 1978 Finnish Final & 3rd in 1984. At the ESC, she was 7th. Kirka represented Finland in ESC 1984. Sonja Lumme represented Finland in ESC 1985.
