The Dutch Final was held on March 26th at the Discotheque Escape in Amsterdam, hosted by Paul de Leeuw. Ruth Jacott sang all the songs and the winner was chosen by 12 regional juries.

Ruth Jacott was previously a backing singer for Edward Reekers in the 1984 Dutch Final, Jody Pijper in the 1986 Dutch Final & was a backing singer for the Netherlands in ESC 1992. At the ESC she came 6th.
