The Danish Final was held at the DR TV Studios in Copenhagen on March 1st, hosted by Hans Otto Bisgård. The winner was chosen by televoting.

Thomas Lægård came 16th at the ESC. One of the members of the group ‚Stay Tuned‘ was Martin Loft who represented Denmark at the 1996 ESC Pre-Selection. Lei Moe was a backing singer for Denmark at ESC 1983, 1989, 1991 & 1993.
