The Danish Final was held at the Bella Centre in Copenhagen on March 25th, hosted by Jarl de Friis-Mikkelsen. The winning song was chosen by the votes of 9 regional juries.

Birthe Kjær previously came 2nd in the Danish finals of 1980, 1986 & 1987. Keld Heick went on to be one of Birthe Kjær’s backing singers at the ESC, where they came 3rd. Gry Johansen represented Denmark in ESC 1983.
