The Danish Final was held at the DR-TV Studios in Copenhagen on February 18th, hosted by Jørgen Mylius. The winning song was chosen by the votes of 5 regional juries.

Kirsten previously came 7th in the 1983 Danish Final. At the ESC, she & Søren were 4th. Trax were John Hatting & Lise Haavik. John Hatting was a member of the group Brixx that represented Denmark in ESC 1982. Tommy Seebach represented Denmark in ESC 1979 & 1981.
