The Belgian Heats were held at the Amerikaans Theater in Brussels, hosted by Staf Van Berendoncks. The finalists were chosen by the votes of 5 regional juries – the songs that qualified for the final were those that came in the top 3 in two consecutive heats. As that wasn’t possible for any of the songs in the 7th heat, any song in the 7th heat achieving at least 377 points (the average score of the songs that qualified for the final in heats 1-6) also qualified for the final.
