The Danish final was held at Cirkusbygningen in Copenhagen on February 9th, hosted by Michael Carøe & Signe Svendsen. The winner was chosen by 4 televoting regions, SMS voting & an „expert“ jury in two rounds of voting – the first to select the top 5 and the second to select the winner.

Malene came 24th at the ESC. The group ‚Neighbours‘ included Helge Engelbrecht who was a member of the group Bandjo/Fenders that represented Denmark at ESC 1987.
