The Danish Final was held on February 19th at Cirkusbygningen in Copenhagen, hosted by Natasja Crone Back & Michael Carøe. The winner was chosen in two rounds of voting. In the first round, the top 5 were chosen by televoting and in the second the winner was chosen by televoting (80%) & an „expert“ jury (20%).

Jørgen Olsen previously came 3rd in the 1989 & 1990 Danish Finals. Singing together with his brother Niels as ‚Brødrene Olsen‘ they came 2nd in the 1978 Danish Final, 8th in 1979, equal 5th in 1980 & took part in the 1986 Danish Final. They went on to win the ESC. Fenders represented Denmark at ESC 1987 (as ‚Bandjo‘). Gry Johansen represented Denmark at ESC 1983.
