The UK Final was held at the BBC TV Studios in London on March 9th, hosted by Dale Winton. Before the final there had been a semi-final on BBC Radio 2 on February 7th which resulted in the following 4 songs being eliminated „Can’t you see I’m crying“ – Paul Varney, „Heart of stone“ – Dave Black, „Lighten up“ – B-Yond, and „Room for change“ – Laura Pallas. Televoting was used in both the semi-final and final.

Katrina and the Waves went on to win the ESC. Sam Blue was a backing singer for the UK in the 1990 ESC and was one half of the group Esseness who were eliminated in the 1996 UK semi-final.
