„Eternal wanderer I’m your fate, I know you remember me“

The Russian Final was held on March 12th at the Russian TV Studios in Moscow, hosted by Vadim Dolgachev. There were originally meant to be 11 songs in the contest, but 2 of them were disqualified before the actual final: „Oi oi oi“ by Alena Apina was disqualified because a few seconds of the song had been played on radio, and „Kogda vernus‘ v Rossiyu“ by Vika Zyganova was disqualified because she was accused of anti-semitism. Both these songs were sung in the interval. The winning song was chosen by a panel of 16 people (9 „experts“ and 7 members of the public).
