The Swedish final was held on March 9th at the Rondo in Gothenburg, hosted by Carin Hjulström. The winning song was chosen by the votes of 11 regional juries.

Edin-Ådahl came 16th at the ESC. One of the members of the group – Frank Ådahl – was a backing singer for Norway in ESC 1986 and was a member of the choir in the 1986 & 1987 Norwegian Finals. Elisabeth Andreasson represented Sweden in ESC 1982, and won the ESC for Norway in 1985 as half of Bobbysocks. Lotta Engberg was a backing singer for Sweden in ESC 1984 and represented Sweden in 1987. Carola represented Sweden in ESC 1983.
