
The Norwegian Final was held at the NRK TV Studios in Oslo on February 25th, hosted by Ivar Dyrhaug. The winner was chosen by the votes of 12 regional juries.

Jahn Teigen previously represented Norway in ESC 1978 & 1982. He also took part in the Norwegian Finals of 1974, 1975, 1976 & 1980. At the ESC he came equal 9th where one of his backing singers was Anita Skorgan who represented Norway in ESC 1977 & 1979 and was a backing singer for Norway in ESC 1981. Grethe Kausland represented Norway in ESC 1972.
